[00:00:00] Speaker A: Good morning, everybody. It's good to be together, all together. Really special treasure these times. This is our last Sunday of the year and I think God's calling us to not just look back and reflect, but also look ahead in partnership with heaven, with vision, with confidence, with boldness, and to live a life all in, not partial and to not be double minded. And so I want to share a little bit today and sort of stay in the tension that we live in and the extremes that we touch in life and help us have a kingdom perspective about our future. I, I believe that there is so much greatness in this room. I believe that there is such precious gifts of the Spirit and gifts of Christ in his body. And I'm jealous for it to come to full potential, full manifestation, because that's going to usher in the King. Jesus is coming back and he's not coming back to save you. He's coming back as a king to rule and reign with his sons and daughters. Do you believe that? And so I'm really excited about the future. I'm excited about 2026. Even if Bitcoin is down, even if, you know things are not going as you planned, there is something greater happening. And I, I, I believe that with the help of the Holy Spirit, we're going to kind of catch that fresh perspective and have a kingdom perspective about our future. So would you bow your heads with me for just a moment? Father, we thank you for 2025. We thank you for your faithfulness. We thank you for your kindness. We thank you for your patience. We thank you for your blood. We thank you for your sacrifice. We thank you for the Holy Spirit. We thank you for family. We thank you for this community. We thank you for all the ways you have showed up in our life. Holy Spirit, would you remind us how you've been present throughout this whole year? Even when we felt separated from you, even when we felt far from you, you were near. So we thank you that today we get to stand and approach the throne with confidence because of the sacrifice and the blood of Jesus Christ. We thank you for salvation. We thank you for eternal life. Amen. You know, Thanksgiving is, is a language of faith. Thanksgiving. If we can steward Thanksgiving, we will always experience greater measures of abundance. And some of us might have a hard time being thankful because our pain, our problem, became so big that that's all we talk about. But God is way bigger than your problem, and Thanksgiving can help you see that. Amen. Okay, I'm going to jump into today's message titled this message yours to steward, yours to steward. There's a day coming where what you've done for him on earth will be the only thing that matters. There is a day coming where what you've done for him on earth will be the only thing that matters. Kingdom movement exists to host heaven and touch earth. And I want to talk about that in this conversation. And we're going to be in Luke chapter 19. And then from there we're going to travel to different verses, but we're going to stay in the theme of Luke chapter 19, verse 13. Jesus is near Jerusalem. This is before his triumphal entry into. And he's confronting a false belief that the disciples have, that the kingdom of God will come instantly. That was their expectation. And so he sets up this parable in response to that mindset. And he's actually saying the kingdom of God is going to come progressively through his church, through his disciples, through his body. And so this parable that we're about to read is not just talking about finances, it's talking about the kingdom of God, a kingdom perspective and kingdom authority. So I want to read verse 13. So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, other translations say talents or finances. And he said to them, do business till I come. Do business until when? Until I come. And this is the, the perspective he's giving the disciples when they're thinking about the kingdom coming instantly. And I think some of us, we develop this mindset where we got saved. [00:06:44] Speaker B: We came to a bus stop and. [00:06:46] Speaker A: We'Re waiting for Jesus to come back. We're just kind of standing around waiting. [00:06:53] Speaker B: And we don't really understand, why should. [00:06:56] Speaker A: I go all in? [00:06:59] Speaker B: Why should I risk? Why should I sacrifice? Why should I put in the effort? Why should I steward and multiply and increase? If all of this is going to. [00:07:13] Speaker A: Burn, how many of you guys heard that phrase before all of this is. [00:07:16] Speaker B: Going to burn anyway. Or hey, scripture says about the last days that evil will increase and people be lovers of themselves. Like, you can't stop this. The scriptures have prophesied this. And I think because we have these different perspectives of what we're supposed to do, we become double minded. And a double minded state of mind makes a person unfruitful. It makes a person barren. We don't want to live a barren life. We don't want to be unfruitful. We want to steward what God has given us. And so yes, evil will increase, and yes, sin will increase. But Jesus talks about that in Matthew 13. He said that he sowed seeds in the field, and as the wheat was growing, the weeds were growing there too. Not because God planted those weeds, but because the thief came in and planted the weeds. And he said, hey, should we pull out the weeds? He said, no, don't, so that you don't uproot the wheat with it. So allow it to grow. But it doesn't mean that wheat is not supposed to grow. It doesn't mean that what the Father has planted is not supposed to progress, grow and be fruitful. And then he says, at the end, what's going to happen at the end? During the harvest time, he's going to send out harvesters and they will remove the weeds from the wheat, and then. [00:09:02] Speaker A: The wheat will be stored in his barn. [00:09:06] Speaker B: I say that to say, because I think the reason why we develop a passive behavior about our life, about our talents, about the way we live, and sort of become comfortable in our faith, it's because we have a wrong perspective. [00:09:29] Speaker A: Of the end. [00:09:33] Speaker B: And so Jesus says, no, no, no, we're not coming up into this triumphal entry into Jerusalem. And the kingdom is going to come instantly. That's not what's going to happen. It's going to happen progressively through seed. And there is a harvest coming. And during the harvest season, God will. [00:09:57] Speaker A: Separate the weeds from the wheat. [00:10:03] Speaker B: And so here he's saying that 10 Minas. So one was given to each other. And one of the first things I want us to recognize is you have something, you have something to steward. You've been given something. And, and you might say, like, what is that? Let me. Let me quickly share a couple of the things we all received. The. The first thing is we all received grace. You have the grace of God, and, and we get to steward this grace. In Ephesians 4. 7, it says, but to each one, grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. Not to some, not to a few chosen, not to a few special talented individuals, to each one. I know that sometimes we just finish our generosity series, and how many of you, like, feel like, man, I wish. [00:11:16] Speaker A: I could do more than what I'm able to. [00:11:20] Speaker B: And. And I feel the same way. I. I wish I could have the capacity to give more. I wish I could do more. And I realized, generosity, it's not just about giving, generosity. The other side of that coin is stewarding. If, if my call is to be generous for a lifetime, then it's not about just giving, it's about stewarding. In other words, it's about learning how to budget. Why? Because I want to manage the surplus for his kingdom. So I budget not because I want to have more money. I want to have surplus and live. [00:12:05] Speaker A: A lifestyle of generosity. [00:12:09] Speaker B: I want to learn how to save, I want to learn how to invest. For what purpose? For that purpose. And then when we do that, that is the generosity mindset that enables you and I to be generous for a lifetime. [00:12:29] Speaker A: And so one of the things we. [00:12:31] Speaker B: Actually are rolling out for our community. [00:12:34] Speaker A: I want, if you could throw it up on the screens, it's called Kingdom Finance 101. We're going to limit it to a certain capacity, but we want to disciple our people on how to manage their resources. [00:12:46] Speaker B: We want to disciple people on how to save, how to budget, how to invest, how to multiply the opportunities and the resources God is giving us so that we can, through stewardship, have the. [00:13:01] Speaker A: Capacity to be generous and be rich towards God. But we have grace to steward. [00:13:12] Speaker B: You know what else we have? We have authority. We have been given authority to steward. [00:13:23] Speaker A: Luke chapter 10, verse 19. And authority is not. [00:13:30] Speaker B: It has to be exercised. [00:13:35] Speaker A: We have the Holy Spirit. [00:13:40] Speaker B: In First Corinthians 6:19 says, do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit? We have spiritual gifts. [00:13:51] Speaker A: First Peter, chapter 4, verse 10. [00:13:53] Speaker B: Each one has received a special gift. Employ it. Say with me, employ. I love that word. Employ your gift. Employ it. In serving one another as good stewards, we have time and opportunity. [00:14:16] Speaker A: Ephesians 5:16 says, make the most of your time because the days are evil. So time is something we get to steward. We have the word of God. We have the revelation that we get to steward and preach the gospel and be ready in season and out of season. Second Timothy 4:12. In other words, you might be like, well, I don't know if I have anything special. You do. You're anointed by God for such a time as this. You carry God inside of you. You carry the Holy Spirit, you carry the resurrection power of Christ. In the same measure, you have something to give. Turn to the person next to you, tell them you have something to give. And this is holy. [00:15:11] Speaker B: This is not you thinking higher of yourself. [00:15:14] Speaker A: This is you agreeing with God. You know. [00:15:24] Speaker B: What I have noticed in. [00:15:29] Speaker A: Christians, in us believers, is that we. [00:15:34] Speaker B: Have learned how to over spiritualize things. We kind of come to the conclusion. [00:15:52] Speaker A: In whatever happens in our life that somehow it was just the will of God. We've become good at over spiritualizing and. [00:16:11] Speaker B: If we've also become really, really good at blaming the dev. [00:16:20] Speaker A: And you know what? [00:16:20] Speaker B: Both of Those things do to us. [00:16:23] Speaker A: They allow us to stay in a place where we don't take responsibility. [00:16:30] Speaker B: The reason why I'm. I titled this message yours to steward. Yeah. If you're a steward, you're not an owner, so it's not technically yours, but. [00:16:38] Speaker A: It'S entrusted to you for a time. [00:16:41] Speaker B: Yeah. And so we'll tend to like, over spiritualize things. Like in areas where we lack stewardship, we become passive or lazy or faithless. And then consequences happen because of our choices. [00:17:00] Speaker A: And we're like, yeah, God just, you know, it's God's will, and I know God's gonna use it. And praise the Lord, he knows what he's doing. [00:17:18] Speaker B: You know, it's like, yeah, God is. [00:17:21] Speaker A: Just teaching me. [00:17:24] Speaker B: Something through this. [00:17:26] Speaker A: Yeah, he is. You know, like, from a financial perspective, like some of us, what we'll do. [00:17:34] Speaker B: Is we'll buy things we can't afford and we'll just rack up payments on everything because of this desire for more. [00:17:42] Speaker A: This greed that we have. [00:17:44] Speaker B: And. And then we can't make payments on things and stuff gets repoed. [00:17:48] Speaker A: And we're like, yeah, God's just teaching me something. God is just, you know. You know, he's just leading me through. [00:17:54] Speaker B: The narrow path, and I'm just learning to surrender. Like, whoa. We actually think that we don't have consequences for choices that we don't sow and reap in life. And somehow at the end, it's all God or the devil. And really, really rarely is it me taking responsibility and repenting before God and renewing my mind and allowing him to redeem a situation. Man. [00:18:36] Speaker A: What an inspiring. Last Sunday. God allowed this? Yeah, he allowed what you allowed. The devil attacked me. Or something. It just wasn't God's will. Just wasn't God's will. I'm not saying that sometimes that's not the case. I'm just saying there's a ditch here. Galatians 6, 7 says, do not be deceived. God is not mocked. Whatever a person sows, this, he will also reap. For the one who sows. [00:19:29] Speaker B: To his. [00:19:30] Speaker A: Own flesh will reap destruction. What? You have a choice as a Christian. Yeah. [00:19:39] Speaker B: You have a choice. And you can sow into your flesh and reap from that seed. Like, is it possible for Christians to sin? [00:19:49] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:19:52] Speaker B: Is it God's will? Oh, no. And God doesn't want to use sin to teach you something. And so he says, hey, God's not mocked. If you're going to sow into your flesh, you're going to Reap death. You're going to reap destruction from the flesh, not from God, but the one who sows to the spirit will reap eternal life from the spirit. Paul doesn't say, whatever God's will is, you reap. He says, whatever you sow, you reap. [00:20:47] Speaker A: I love this phrase. Responsibility is not legalism, it's maturity. You know, the other ditch is blaming the devil. I just want to tell you that, like, the enemy's actually defeated. Some of you question that. [00:21:13] Speaker B: So let's. [00:21:13] Speaker A: Let's look at the Scripture, Colossians 2:15. When he had disarmed the rulers and authorities, he made a public display of them, celebrating victory over them through him. James, chapter 4, verse 7 says this. [00:21:32] Speaker B: Submit to God. [00:21:34] Speaker A: Read, resist the devil and he will flee from you. So we're not supposed to blame the. [00:21:40] Speaker B: Devil, we're supposed to resist the devil? Yeah. The devil can come after you. Yeah. [00:21:47] Speaker A: The devil can attack you. [00:21:48] Speaker B: Yeah. You can have a dark day. [00:21:50] Speaker A: But you have been given authority to resist. [00:21:53] Speaker B: And that's what submitting to God looks like. It's to resist. We live in a generation where we do whatever we feel. [00:22:01] Speaker A: And whatever we feel is the definition of truth. [00:22:04] Speaker B: No, no. Submit to God and resist the devil. [00:22:07] Speaker A: And the devil will flee from you. [00:22:09] Speaker B: Why? Because he's defeated and he has no authority. His authority has been removed to those who are in Christ Jesus. [00:22:22] Speaker A: The other extreme is, you know, it was just God's will. And I think we mistake God to be a micromanager of all of the details in our life, that he's controlling fully every step of our life, that. [00:22:49] Speaker B: We actually, if that's the perspective, we. [00:22:52] Speaker A: Actually have no free will to choose. And so Romans 8:28 says this. And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, those who are called according to his purposes. I think what we're seeing here is the redemptive work of God in our life and actually, like, a space for you to risk. Like, hey, some of us because of fear. We're not stewarding the talent given to us, which we'll read further in Luke 19, where we started. And what he's saying is, don't. [00:23:45] Speaker B: Don't shrink back and allow fear to. [00:23:49] Speaker A: Control and to paralyze your potential because. [00:23:54] Speaker B: You'Re too afraid to make a mistake. Romans 8 is actually creating a space for you to understand even when you make a mistake. But you're a person that is called to the purposes of God. You're a person that is following Jesus Christ God's going to redeem your mistakes. God's going to redeem your shortcomings. He's going to fill with grace spaces where you lack. Why? Because he wants us to be confident. He wants us to be bold. He wants us to be free to. [00:24:27] Speaker A: Steward what he's entrusted to us. If you guys remember, I think I've shared this before about the bridge that was being built in San Francisco, the. What's that bridge called? Golden Gate Bridge. And it was. It was taking so long, and it was so expensive to build this bridge because it was a very windy place. And people were afraid to work, and they couldn't. They couldn't do anything about it. They were delayed, and they decided to build a net under this bridge, a safety net, so that people would kind of work with more confidence and not be so scared. And so when they built the safety net, they beat the record of their timeline and finished the bridge way faster than expected. Because people knew that if they were to fall, this net's going to catch them. You know, so we know that if we. If we were to miss it somewhere, that the grace of God is going to catch us. [00:25:33] Speaker B: You know, we could find ourselves as that person. Well, I don't know. I just don't know how to say it right. [00:25:38] Speaker A: I just know. [00:25:39] Speaker B: I just don't know how to do it right. [00:25:40] Speaker A: I just, you know, I'm just waiting on God. [00:25:43] Speaker B: It's like, hey, 30 years later, you're. [00:25:45] Speaker A: Still waiting on God. [00:25:50] Speaker B: One day you're gonna stand before God. One day he's going to come to settle his accounts. [00:26:16] Speaker A: Not going to be able to get through all of this. Let's go back to Luke 19, verse 15. And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants to whom he had given the money to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. Then came the first saying, master, your Mina has earned 10 Minas. And then he said to him, well done, good servant, because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over 10 cities. Do you see that? Faithful by definition in this parable is one who multiplies. [00:27:17] Speaker B: God entrusted something, and this person took. [00:27:20] Speaker A: What God entrusted to them, and he got busy doing business. That might look different for everyone in this room, but he was busy doing business. Until he comes. He said, good and faithful. And then we see in verse 24, The rest of this story goes where, you know, another one comes and says, you've given me Amina. Here's five. And then it goes down to, to the one that buried his because he was afraid. And you would think, like, man, what's so bad about that? Like, you got one, you gave one back. Isn't that fair? There was an expectation from the King for him to multiply what was given to him. And so then he goes on to say this in verse 24. And this is where I also think we probably could be double minded about the way we see God, the way we see his kingdom. Because the kingdom of God is not a socialist system, it's a stewardship system. So let's look at this. I, I put this up and amplified. Then he said to the bystanders, bystanders, take the mina away from him, the one that buried his talent, and give it to the one who has 10 minas. And they said to him, Lord, he has 10 minas already. Jesus explained, I tell you, that to everyone who has, because he valued his gifts from God and has used them wisely, more will be given. But from the one who does not have, because he disregarded his gifts from God, even what he has will be taken away. And so we see that this abundant life that is offered in Christ actually is experienced through stewardship. [00:29:59] Speaker B: And even as God is redeeming situations. [00:30:03] Speaker A: He'S training us and teaching us to. [00:30:07] Speaker B: Be mature sons and daughters, that we actually have an inheritance, that we actually are called to rule and reign, not just in the future, but now together with Christ, to host heaven and touch earth. That we are actually called as the church of Jesus Christ, as the body of our Lord, to pray this prayer and to live it out, let your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven, and let your will be. [00:30:40] Speaker A: Done on earth as it is in heaven. Would you stand to your feet with me? I think as we look. [00:30:53] Speaker B: At 20. [00:30:54] Speaker A: 26, repentance, remember, repentance is changing the way we think. [00:31:04] Speaker B: And so sometimes we can be ambitious. We could have good desire. [00:31:08] Speaker A: Like, you ever, like, write goals for the next year and like, practice it for the first three weeks? [00:31:19] Speaker B: Like, I think we all have good intentions, but God's not judging your intentions, he's judging your actions. [00:31:32] Speaker A: Are you? [00:31:32] Speaker B: Are you? Well, I always wanted to. But you didn't. I always felt like I should. But you didn't. And so why? Because repentance didn't actually take place. Because if repentance is to change the way I think, then what's the byproduct of that? When I change the way I think about my life, about my future, about what God has given me to steward, then I Change my behavior. My behavior follows my mindset. It's not the intention. I know what it's like to write New Year resolutions and to get ambitious and to think about what God would want me to write. But is there a commitment? Is there an understanding of why? Why should I give my life? Why should I lay everything down? Why should I live a life of surrender? Why should I refuse comfort? Why should I resist having more possessions so that I can steward generosity towards God? [00:32:40] Speaker A: Why? [00:32:42] Speaker B: Why give up things that I love? There has to be a why that empowers the what. And so the overarching conversation is, do we have a kingdom perspective about our future? Are we seeing this parable correctly? [00:33:03] Speaker A: And I promise you this, that when we begin to multiply what he's given us, more will be given to you. Some of us were in the socialist crowd where it's like, well, God's gonna make it all even because he's so fair. He's not gonna make it even. He's gonna give to each one according to what they did. And you might not like that. [00:33:35] Speaker B: You might be here like, I don't like that version. [00:33:37] Speaker A: I'm sorry. [00:33:40] Speaker B: It'S the Bible. You might not like that, but if. [00:33:46] Speaker A: You take responsibility, you will enjoy it. And so the cry of my heart is, God, I don't want to just make ambitious goals that I think would impress you. Give me the grace to practice this. Give me the grace to have consistency in these small things. Like, hey, how about just reading the Bible in the morning? For some of us, that's the next step. Like, why don't we just start with that? [00:34:22] Speaker B: How about, like, not these crazy, ambitious. [00:34:24] Speaker A: Things that, like, sometimes we never reach. [00:34:26] Speaker B: And stop practicing after two weeks? [00:34:28] Speaker A: How about just the simple things of, like, God, help me see what you've given me. Help me see what's in my hand. Show me the next step. And if you're a victim in this room and you either blamed God or blame the devil, I believe God wants to set you free today. And God wants to make you a son, a mature son in his house who's going to walk in authority and rule and reign and manifest the kingdom of heaven on earth as it is in heaven. This matters to God. Our life matters to God. So we're gonna just take a moment in this worship. I'm gonna invite the ministry team forward. We're gonna pray and minister. God's gonna touch people today. But I want you to take a moment and. And ask Holy Spirit, what are you saying to me, Holy Spirit, what are you asking of me. [00:35:41] Speaker B: How do I. [00:35:42] Speaker A: Be the servant that is not bearing his talents because of fear, because of insecurity? How do I be the servant that is multiplying what you've entrusted to me? And what does that look like in your season? I don't know. But I believe that Holy Spirit is ready to partner with us in this prayer. So would you just lift your hands as a sign of surrender and this is us just saying, God, we give you our lives, we give you 20, 26. We surrender who we are to you once again. Holy Spirit, speak to us. Holy Spirit, show us your ways. Holy Spirit, lead us to true repentance. In Jesus name, would you just take a moment to hear from God and respond to him in this song? And if you have need in any area of your life, we want to. [00:36:43] Speaker B: Invite you to come forward and receive prayer. [00:36:47] Speaker A: If you need healing in your body or just breakthrough or maybe something is touching you about this message where you feel like you need to come and partner with somebody or maybe you have had a victim mindset about life and you want to break that off today. In Jesus name, go ahead and just come and partner. Grace flows to the humble and we believe God is going to touch you in a supernatural way this morning. Let's worship him.
